Based on guidance from the CDC and state health officials we will be cancelling all upcoming events and General Tours effective today, March 19th. Currently our specialty tours and on-site lodging are still available, but they will be limited to less then 10 people and are by reservation only. The decision came in response to the recent COVID-19 outbreak. This measure is being taken to prevent the overall spread of the illness, as well as to protect team members who will continue to care for the sanctuary’s animals despite tours being cancelled. This situation is very fluid so be sure to follow us on Facebook for updates and further changes.

The health of our animals and staff, and the well-being of the public is our top priority. We do not make this decision lightly, events and General Tours make up about 50% of our revenue and the spring is one of our busiest times of the year, especially after the slow winter months. But, with a staff of only three, we cannot take the risk, since our staff will still be coming to work in order to take care of the animals.

We know financial stability is a concern for many of you right now. For those who are able, please consider helping our animal residents as we face the implications of COVID-19. Below are several ways you can help:

– A $10 donation, equal to the cost of a general tour for an adult would be wonderful, but we invite you to give what you can.

– Book a stay in our on-site lodging for the summer or next fall when you will most likely really need a vacation!

– Join our Adopt-A-Cat program! Help support our animals and stay up to date with what they are doing all year!

For those who greatly wish to help but are financially unable, you can still support our animal residents by sharing our posts. Be sure to watch for more live content here on Facebook during this time.

We appreciate all of you and would not exist without YOU! Stay safe. Stay healthy. And together we will get through this!
