52 Year Old, Paul Goldstein, runs across the world in tiger suit!
This 9 foot tiger suit has run nine marathons and travelled the globe. Paul Goldstein wears this costume to help bring awareness to the plight of tigers. He is fighting for more action to be taken to stop poaching of wild animals. Not only has Paul and his tiger suit been to the Taj Mahal, Stonehenge, and Mount Kilimanjaro, but he has also raised money for Friends of Conservation (http://www.justgiving.com/foc). Paul is demonstrating that one person can truly make a difference and help give animals a voice!
Global March for Lions
Big cat lovers in 46 cities around the world marched against canned lion hunting on March 15. Over 160 canned lion “killing camps” have been established in South Africa in the last 15 years. Often times “pay to play” cub petting schemes supply these camps with lions. Canned lion hunting condemns lions in captivity to becoming trophies of staged hunts. A petition to ban canned hunting was given to the Parliament in Cape Town after the march. Those who could not attend, participated in a Twitter storm to help spread awareness about the plight of these captive lions. Here is a quick Youtube video about the march: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbL-HEfq0r0. Always be aware of “pay to play” cub petting.
